What is Mindfulness?

Although Mindfulness originated from Buddhist meditation practices, they have a long history of secular applications.
Clinically Mindfulness based therapies have been proven to be very effective with:
- Chronic pain
- Stress
- Depression and suicidal behaviour
- Substance abuse and addictive behaviour
- Obsessive compulsive disorder
- Anxiety
It is fast becoming an essential tool in any therapist (and coach’s) toolkit.
I have been studying and practicing Mindfulness for 15 years, originally through Buddhism and later through therapeutic applications. I have been using it in combination with, and alongside traditional NLP and hypnotherapy techniques with clients for as long as I have been involved in coaching and therapy.
