HAPPY NEW YOU!!!

Begin 2005 as you mean to end it!

My girlfriend and I have a little ritual at new year, It goes like this: Around midnight we sit down and make a list of the 10 things we want to accomplish in the coming year, these could be anything from getting a new job, to changing a habit to just doing a one off thing we have always wanted to do. We set a goal to have all 10 accomplished by December 31 of the New Year. Then we organise the goals into some sensible order of achievement and make plans for accomplishing the first goal, then the next … and so on.

In a nutshell, we would mentally project ourselves a year into the future – then mentally pretend to be looking back at the entire year while giving a recap of all the good things we accomplished.

It is a great way to start the New Year, if you ask me. Especially when you discover how much people who do this accomplish. OK, it my be a little past the start of the new year, but it still not too late to decide on what you want to achieve this year (I am still settling into my “new years resolutions, you can’t rush these things!). Give it a go now, sit down with a pen and paper and make a list!

Until tomorrow, peace!
